Our Team

  • Executive Director: Tyler T. Tracy

Tyler and his wife Amanda have been married for 18 years and live in Fargo, ND. They have 4 children ages 15, 12, 10, and 7. They attend Salem Evangelical Free Church. Tyler and his family have been a part of Camp Joy since 2014. Tyler also was on the Camp Joy Board from 2022-2023 until he was selected to serve as the Executive Director November 1st, 2023.

Taking on the lead role at Camp Joy was a natural transition for Tyler. Previously, Tyler served as Calvary Church at Village Green’s Youth Group Director for 5 years, created Calvary’s Trunk and Treat event, always said yes to holding a baby in the nursery and lead VBS games at every opportunity. Throw in his Recreation Management degree and you have a perfect combination of ministry and having fun!

Tyler has been a vital leader in leading previous non-profits. He hopes to bring his previous experience as an Executive Director and board member to serve God’s Kingdom to bring more youth to better know Jesus.

  • Ministry Lead: Amanda Strom

Amanda has been serving at Camp Joy as a counselor since 2019, and has been in other camp ministries since 2015! During the school year she lives in Phoenix, AZ since graduating from Grand Canyon University in 2023. Amanda has a huge heart for local and global missions and has served on trips to Lebanon, Mexico, and Ecuador this year. Recently she worked with Heartfire Missions, a nonprofit focused on raising up college students and medical professionals to live on mission for Jesus nationally and internationally.  Amanda attends Christ Church in Phoenix, leading a college discipleship group and serving with the City Hope ministry - providing help and hope in Jesus' name to the homeless and low-income population. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, going for walks, ziplining, reading in the sun, and checking out new coffee shops. One of her favorite Bible verses is Mark 16:19-20

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Amanda will be heading to Italy to serve in the mission field and plans to come back to Camp Joy in 2025!

  • Activities Lead: Eden Tofibam

Eden has been serving at Camp Joy since graduating high school in 2021. She has served at Camp Joy as a head counselor for the last four camp seasons, and we are excited to have her back as the new Activities Lead! Eden is excited to bring in new ideas while also keeping true to tradition and Camp Joy's mission. We can't wait to see what she has in store for us!

Eden keeps quite busy during the school year as well. She graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2023 and currently works as a paraprofessional at an elementary school along with being an assistant teacher for a school-age group after school. Eden also volunteers as the 2 and under Sunday School scheduler and planner for The Summit Church where she attends.

Even though work occupies a lot of her time, Eden still finds ways to enjoy herself. Her free time is often spent hanging out with friends (usually watching a show they all like), reading, baking, or putting a puzzle together. In warm weather, Eden likes to take walks, play basketball, and spend time with friends around a late night bonfire.

Eden's long-time favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." They remind her to let go of control and allow God's will to be done in her life, whatever that may be. It also helps her avoid making too many plans for the future and possibly missing a path God may be showing her. For now, Eden believes that it is the Lord's will she remain at Camp Joy and will JOYfully serve as long as she is able!
